From Blessing to Design
Ayna was born from a deep connection to Jewish tradition — to words, to symbols, and to the mysteries behind them.
Shira Carlebach, the designer and artist behind the brand, grew up surrounded by stories of spirit, amulets, and the quiet power of intention and blessing. Rooted in a personal familiarity with Kabbalah alongside formal training in contemporary design, she creates objects that carry a language of meaning.
At the heart of each piece is a Hebrew letter not as decoration, but as breath. According to Kabbalah, the world was created with letters. Each one is an energetic channel, a movement, a vessel for repair. In Ayna’s hamsas, each letter is chosen with care, carved into the stone, and infused with intention.
The letters act as seals of light carrying protection, blessing, and a reminder of the sacred within. Ayna is born of a contemporary interpretation of an ancient idea: Luck and abundance are not accidents they are the result of conscious choice. Every day, we are invited to open a small gate to welcome goodness, to choose light, and to illuminate our home.
Repair as Creation
AYNA hamsas begin where the building industry ends. Marble and ceramic tiles – materials originally made for the worlds of architecture and interior design are often discarded due to nearly invisible flaws: a thin crack, a superficial scratch, a millimeter off-standard. Natural, high-quality, powerful materials sent to waste.
Shira, the designer behind AYNA, collects these tiles one by one. She cleans them, catalogs them, numbers and preserves them. Each piece undergoes a process of careful selection and precise matching, until it finds its place in a new hamsa.
This approach offers a different perspective:
A flaw is not the end – it’s the beginning of meaning.
Every mark, chip, or imperfection reminds us that repair is always possible. Not by hiding or erasing – but by choosing to work with what is, with care and intentionץ
What was once discarded becomes a foundation.
What was once overlooked becomes an object of presence, protection, and healing.
From Holy Land
AYNA was born here, in the heart of Israel. In a small studio, from a deep love for material, for the Hebrew language, and for Jewish-Israeli spirit.
Each hamsa is crafted by hand, with artistic precision and a desire to bring meaning, presence, and soul into the objects that surround us at home. AYNA is not a mass-produced brand, it’s a movement of repair.
A return to roots, and an invitation to shape the future through connection. A community that believes aesthetics can carry intention, and that a design object can hold meaning.
Ayna collectors come from all over the world Israelis, diaspora Jews, designers, seekers, and those who want to live with deeper layers of meaning. They’re not just purchasing a hamsa, they’re entering a circle of inspiration, tradition, and thoughtful design.
Each purchase is part of a larger cycle of local craftsmanship, sustainability, and the spread of goodness.
